Wight Westie Walkers
15 Oct 2015

URGENT APPEAL – Hello everyone. Just over a year ago Wight Westie Walkers after consultation with members and Islanders decided to operate our own Rescue to help and assist any Westie on the Island in need wherever possible. Being a small Island on average we are helping about two Westies a year for rehoming. But we are also assisting in other areas. Advice, Bereavement, Recommendations of Rescues, Diet, Behaviour and a Shoulder to lean on. The list is endless. Many free man hours are taken up with the running of the rescue and all the above and we do this for the love of the breed. We always want to do our best for any Westie and help wherever possible. Unfortunately we do not have enough volunteers to help us to continue to do this and for the last six months or so our lovely Sharon and Kathy have been doing most of the work. Without more volunteers being able to offer some of their free time to assist in things like home checks short term fostering, admin etc I feel that the rescue and the annual walk will have to close it doors and I and Sharon really don’t want this to happen. For the most part things are pretty quiet throughout the year but we need a small pool of people that we can rely on to call at short notice when a Westie comes to us for help. The Annual walk will be also upon us in six months time and we will also require volunteers to assist with this. As you know this walk raises much needed funds for the Rescue and is our only source of income. So please please if any of you can give some of your free time to help us contact Sharon or myself via PM and register you interest. With Many Thanks. Dionne
